In this episode we take a look at the golden age of Australian Hip Hop during the 2000s. We’re with bassist, lyricist, and vocalist Andy Lane from Good Buddha. Andy started playing with other like minded kids at Fort Street High in Sydney, graduated to gigging bands like Freudian Trip, played with solo artists like Holly Throsby and iOTA, then joined Good Buddha, an exponent of Australian Hip Hop.
These days Andy lives in Melbourne where he writes, produces, directs and edits film and video content, mostly in the sports world. He is just finishing his debut feature which will feature a couple of Good Buddha songs on the soundtrack. He also mentors Master of Screenwriting students at the VCA and has written a couple of unpublished novels to keep the unmade film and TV scripts company.
